Your information, in plain language
What this site collects when you fill in a form, why, and who can see it.
Last updated October 18, 2026
What we collect
Only what you type into one of our three forms:
- Waitlist: your first name, email, city, the ways you’d like to take part (attending, hosting, performing) and your consent to receive emails.
- Artist interest: your name, email, optional phone number, city or region, a link to a sample of your art and a short note about your interest.
- Host interest: your name, email, optional phone number, city or region, a description of your space and a short note about your interest.
When a form is submitted, the site also records the time and the IP address it came from, which helps us spot spam.
We never ask for your journal writing or your personal story.
How we use it
- To tell waitlist members about future Break Your Heart Open opportunities.
- To follow up personally with artists and hosts who contact us.
- To understand which cities people would like sessions in.
Who can see it
Submissions are stored privately and only the organizing team can access them. We don’t publish submissions, and there is no public list of artists, hosts or waitlist members.
Emails
We only email waitlist members who agreed to receive emails. You can ask to be removed at any time.
Sessions
Sessions themselves are phone-free and are not photographed or recorded.
