Break Your Heart Open grows locally, through the artists who bring their work and the hosts who open their spaces. If that might be you, we’d love to hear from you.
Perform with BYHO
We’re looking for creators of original art about:
- Heartbreak and love
- Loss and grief
- Redemption and transformation
Artists’ work and live original music set the tone for each session, and give people something to write toward. Every arrangement is worked out directly with each artist; sending this form doesn’t commit you, or us, to anything.

Host a session
Good spaces are intimate and comfortable: an after-hours coffee shop, a creative venue, or another room where a small group can sit, listen to live music and write.

What happens next
A member of the organizing team reviews each submission and gets in touch directly. There’s no public list of applicants, and nothing you send is published.
